How Nevada State High School gives Nevada families more options for education.
We recognize that our state has a large number of hard-working, dedicated teachers working to serve our Nevada residents. Unfortunately, we also recognize that our current school system is struggling to keep up with the individual needs of each student, and Nevada’s education system continues to rank among the lowest of all states. At Nevada State High School, our goal is to give Juniors and Seniors options for a better path to education.
Nevada State High School is a Nevada Charter School that enrolls Juniors and Seniors into Dual-Credit programs. Our students have the potential to earn an Associates degree or Technical Trade degree at the same time as graduation, tuition-free.
Who is Nevada State High School designed for?
We have a proven process that works for nearly all Juniors and Seniors who are interested in getting more out of their education, preparing students for either a college-bound path or a career-ready path. Our program works for high achievers who have their eyes set on A-List universities, students with 504 or IEP plans, and students who are interested in trade-degrees and being workforce ready upon graduation.
Where are classes taken?
Core classes are taken at the Community College where students are enrolled, which is specific to each student. Extra support classes are taken at one of our 9 campuses in Nevada. Online options are available for much of the coursework as well. (Community colleges include: CSN, GBC, TMCC or WNC).
What is a typical student’s schedule like with Nevada State High School?
Students have a large amount of independence and autonomy when it comes to their weekly schedule. We are not a traditional 7am-1pm, Monday – Friday school. Most students take classes between 2 – 4 days per week. The specific time of each class is dependent on each student’s schedule, and includes online and evening options.

At Nevada State High School, you take real college courses for both high school and college credit. While going to this school, I will have completed enough credits to graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Psychology, at only 17! The teachers are very interactive with the students, and they make sure we are on course and doing well throughout the semester.
