The tragic death of George Floyd is a mere glimpse into the systemic racism in our society. We stand with and applaud all citizens legally protesting racism. At NSHS where students are immersed into a college environment, we openly discuss issues such as prejudice, leadership, free speech, and Constitutional rights. We encourage and teach our students to become active in movements that they are passionate about especially when it promotes empowerment. We are proud of our students, alumni, and staff who are taking a stand against racism. We do not condone those who violate the rule of law through random acts of violence because it takes away from the essential message: racism is wrong and cannot be tolerated in any form.
Be kind to each other. Have a voice, be heard, and stay safe.
