Sara Tafoya
What college/university are you attending?
I will be attending Nevada State College.
Did you earn any scholarships?
Yes; I’ve earned two so far! The Black and Gold Scholarship and the Millennium Scholarship.
What career are you most interested in?
I’m most interested in becoming a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Practitioner.
What goals do you have for yourself?
I want to state three medical offices and make a name for myself in the medical community by the age of 30.
What type of social activities/clubs are you looking to join?
I’m looking forward to joining the Soccer Club and the Nursing Association.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself owning three medical offices and being able to support myself & my family.
How did NSHS guide and prepare you to take on these aspirations?
This school showed me that being afraid is okay. You can’t go through life thinking that everything is perfect.
What is the biggest lesson you learned while attending NSHS?
You must take responsibility for your mistakes.
What will you miss most about NSHS?
I will miss the opportunities that I was provided with: free college, guidance, and all the memories we made as Seniors.
Fun fact: Attending NSHS allowed me to have an open schedule, providing me with the opportunity to become a babysitter for the Vegas Golden Knights – something that I would not have been able to do if I attended a traditional high school.
