What do you enjoy most about teaching at Nevada State High School? I love getting to know my students better and seeing how talented they are.
How do you like to spend your free time? I most like to spend my free time traveling, but when I am not traveling I like to spend it with my family and two dogs.
What is your favorite place in the world? I don’t really have a “favorite” place since I have seen many different places and have liked them all for different reasons. But, if I had to pick one, it would probably be the Yampa Valley in Colorado. Much of my family lives there and it just feels like home whenever I am there.
What is the last book you read? Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour
Which authors or books have influenced you the most? This is going to sound very “English teacher” of me, but William Shakespeare. There is part of his poem “Rape of Lucrece” that has guided me throughout my life.
Do you have secret talents? Not unless you count talking to strangers as a talent. I can pretty much talk to anyone, and for some weird reason complete strangers frequently like to share their life stories/problems with me.
What do you hope students will come away with after attending NSHS? I hope that they come away with college credits as well as a better understanding of how college works and how to get the most out of their college experience.
