HawkTALK Business Leaders Series
HawkTalk Business Leaders Series (BLS) is an interview segment that is broadcast using Facebook Live to conduct a short 12 to 15-minute interview with leaders in the business community or parents from the school that will appear as guests. Guests appearing on BLS will share their knowledge on the hiring processes, professional habits, and highlighted careers in the workforce to help viewers expand their career exploration options and insight from the local workforce. This supports Nevada State High School’s mindset of successfully preparing students for college into careers.
About Workforce Connections
The mission of Workforce Connections is “Connecting Employers to a Ready Workforce.” They establish dynamic partnerships with employers and the community to connect job seekers to education, job training and employment opportunities. The organization is responsible for the operation of the One-Stop Delivery System in the Southern Nevada Local Workforce Development Area serving Lincoln, Esmeralda, Nye, and Clark Counties of Nevada.
Background on Mr. Jaime Cruz
Mr. Jaime Cruz is the Executive Director of the Nevada Workforce Connections and has held various positions within the Tourism, Gaming and Entertainment industry sector. Jaime was born in Lima, Peru where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree and later sailed international waters as a Merchant Marine Officer. He immigrated to the USA in 1988 and became a naturalized citizen in 1994. His business acumen is deep and wide and his interview with Dr. John Hawk on HawkTALK Business Leaders Series was extremely informative as outreach to the community.
