The FAFSA Personal Identification Number (PIN) serves as your electronic signature and is required when submitting the FAFSA form on-line. If you are considered a dependent student (dependent upon parents) and will be filing the FAFSA on-line, both you and your parent will need to register for an individual PIN number. Your PIN is different from your parent’s PIN. The parent can use the same PIN number for their electronic signature each year and for multiple children.
