During their second year at Nevada State High School, students attend a once-a-month course, known as COMPASS. It is required for NSHS graduation, but not for an actual credit on the transcript. This course is set up to touch base with students who are at the school for a second year to make sure they are keeping up with their college requirements, NSHS expectations, and post-high school college application deadlines. By their second year, many students are successfully integrated into college and may forget they still have high school responsibilities. This course is a way to keep in touch with second year students until they graduate high school.
